Easy Digital Downloads is a plugin I have been working on for about two months now. It is a plugin designed for making it possible, and exceptionally easy to sell digital downloads through your WordPress site. One of the main ideas behind the plugin is to provide a system that is only for digital downloads and does not also attempt to do 10,000 other tasks, like many of the e-commerce plugins available for WordPress. I’m excited to announce that Easy Digital Downloads has just had its first beta release and is ready for everyone to test it.

Suggested Feature:
AWS S3 and CloudFront integration for the files to enable secure downloads from amazon strorage.
That is already available. The plugin only requires a URL to the files, and it can be anything, local or external.

Yes, absolutely. Sometime soon in the future, I’m going to be building some music specific add-ons for the plugin that will make selling music even better. There are already several users selling music through EDD and it’s working very well for them.
