Restrict Content Pro is a membership and premium content management plugin for WordPress that lets you easily run a subscription website, such as this one. Since the very earliest versions, it has included a free add-on that allows you to add a MailChimp signup option to the registration form, but this has always been pretty limited for what most people want when it comes to email newsletter integrations with MailChimp. Today, I am thrilled to announce that a new MailChimp Pro add-on has been released that dramatically improves the integration between Restrict Content Pro and MailChimp.

MailChimp Pro for Restrict Content Pro is built by Dan Griffiths of Section214 and is available from his website.

With the Pro version, site admins can configure the integration with MailChimp in several ways. You can:

  • Subscribe your members to unique lists per subscription level
  • Enable or disable the double-opt-in confirmations
  • Show an opt-in checkbox on the registration form
  • Subscribe customers to lists automatically (without opt-in)
  • Track and record RCP membership status in MailChimp (updates automatically when a member’s status changes)
  • Track all membership payments through MailChimp’s E-Commerce 360

All working now, email was delayed!

      Glad to hear it!

    Hi,
This is great step in the right direction. I have a question: Any chance of being able to choose groups (within lists) anytime soon?
    Thanks,
    Allen

Since it’s a 3rd party plugin, I can’t say for sure but if you contact Dan directly, he should be able to provide a better estimate.

      Allen,

Did you ever find a plugin that did this for you? I need Group capability as well, and the section214.com website seems to be down with the plugin no longer available.

Maybe Pippin will take over development of this plugin?

    • Pippin

The site is back up. It was just a temporary issue.

I second the desire to choose groups within an email list. I contacted Dan, but there has been no reply…

    • Pippin

I’ll pass it on to Dan. I’ll also check and make sure everything is okay in regards to the lack of a reply.

    Hi Pippin,

I tried both the free version created by you and the pro version by section214, however both plugins have the issue where if a discount code is applied, the mailchimp sign up will not work. People bought the membership with a discount code can not be subscribed to mailchimp (double opt-in emails were not received) or could not be added to the list if double opt-in is disabled.
