Github is a wonderful way to share your projects with the world, as well as a tremendous development tool for developers. This is a simple plugin that will let you display a grid of all users that have made contributions to your Github projects.

The plugin is based off of the code published by Konstantin Kovshenin; I have simply modified it a little bit to create a short code and add in a little bit of very simple markup.

When placed on a page, the short code will retrieve all users that have contributed at least one commit to the specified Github repository. The results are cached for performance reasons, and caches are cleared once per hour.

Each contributor is displayed with their avatar and name, and linked to their Github profile.

The short code is simple:

[github-contributors username="{YOUR USERNAME}" repo="{NAME OF YOUR REPO}"]

Here’s a live example of all the users that have contributed to Easy Digital Downloads:

Thanks to Evan Solomon for his watchful eye on a few issues and Konstantin Kovshenin for the original base code.
