Review: Fanciest Author Box

Love It - 2

The Fanciest Author Box plugin is a nice and simple, yet powerful, way to display author’s personal information at the top or bottom of WordPress posts. It’s a great addition to just about any multi-author blog. I was asked to review the plugin by the developers, and after doing so was very pleased. In the video below, I walk you through the plugin, tell you a bit about what I like, and I don’t like, and show exactly what the plugin does.

Fanciest Author Box is available on Code Canyon for $10.

Here is how the developer’s describe the plugin:

This premium author bio plugin is very easy to use and customize. Right after installation the author bio is, by default, enabled on all your posts, pages and custom post types. You can also implement it as a widget in your sidebars, as a template tag or manually using a shortcode. It’s translation ready and offers unlimited color options.

Social widgets are a nice asset that let you present yourself in a more personal manner and enable people to connect with you easily.

The features of the plugin include:

  • Widget
  • Shortcode
  • Template tag
  • Translation ready
  • Unlimited color options
  • Automatically added before or after (or both!) your posts, pages and custom post types
  • Widgets for Major Social Networks
  • Twitter bio, latest tweet
  • Facebook like & subscribe
  • Google+ add to circles button & rel=author verification
  • Custom HTML tab

This plugin also has a slimmed down free version available in the WordPress plugin repository.

Purchase from Code Canyon

Hi Pippin, interesting review but there appears to be no audio for the final minute.

Thanks for the review. Do you know how one would turn off the
“About Jimbo John” part at the very bottom? It seems redundant to have both the fancier author box bio and the about bio.

Are you wanting to turn off the about section in the theme (if so, which theme are you using?) or in the plugin?

Great review. I run a blog full of guest authors, so this would come in handy. The audio does cut out in the end and I wish there was a way you could either re-record it or do a voice over recording for those parts. Thank you for an informative review of a plugin that I have been considering.
